The celebrity power couple welcomed twins — Ella and Alexander —yesterday.
The twins are the first children for both their mom and dad, who released a statement through George’s publicist yesterday: “This morning we welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into our lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine.”
The statement also joked about the 56-year-old proud papa, who prior to marrying Amal, was a well-known single guy: “George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”
George’s father Nick Clooney told People magazine that the new parents introduced the twins to him over Skype and the babies have dark hair and “are gorgeous.”
Celebs and fans also sent their congrats to the Clooneys on social media.
Friend and co-star Julia Roberts, fellow parent of twins, also gave some of the best advice to George and Amal in an an interview with Extra in May: “There’s no such thing as wisdom when you have twin babies in the house,” she said. “There’s just hopes and prayers and tears and holding on tight to each other.”
