And March Madness isn’t the only thing bouncing around in b-ball news: exactly 25 years ago today, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had his number, 33, retired from the L.A. Lakers. And for those of us who keep up with the sport, we know Abdul-Jabbar is still in the game…but just in a different capacity. The 66-year-old retired athlete recently expressed interest in possibly owning the Milwaukee Bucks, which happens to be the first NBA team he played for.
If he ends up owning the Bucks, Abdul-Jabbar will have come full circle—with a slam dunk.
