Quote of the Week: Happy Earth Day!

Native Americans have long recognized the importance of the environment and paid reverence to the land, water, plants, animals, and air. In honor of Earth Day 2015, we celebrate them and our planet with our Quote of the Week.

On April 22, 1970, renowned anthropologist Margaret Mead inaugurated the first Earth Day. It was founded by Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson to raise public awareness of how pollution threatens and destroys the environment. Since its beginnings, celebrations continue to grow on a global scale each April to raise awareness and spur humans into taking action to save our planet. So today we celebrate with the earth-friendly wisdom of a Native American proverb that advises to take care of the earth before it’s too late.
