Happy Birthday to Howard Stern! The popular radio host and self-proclaimed “King of All Media” turns 61 today.
Did you know?
Before celebrity governors like pro-wrestler Jesse Ventura or “The Governator” Arnold Schwarzenegger, there was shock jock governor wannabe, Howard Stern. Stern famously ran for governor of New York in 1994. He ran on a very specific limited agenda that included four items: (1) reinstating the death penalty − “A volt for every vote.” (2) tolls to ease traffic congestion (3) restricting road repairs to nighttime (4) resigning once items 1-2-3 were done. Stern ultimately dropped out of the race when the time came to disclose his finances, but in 1995 Governor George Pataki signed into law the Howard Stern Bill, which did indeed take care of #3 on this list.
