Pop stars are like fine wine; they only get better with time. On March 12, 2011, Yoko Ono made history as the oldest artist to have a No. 1 dance hit with her single “Move on Fast” at age 78. But she’s no novice in the music industry. Ono first emerged onto the music scene after dating Beatle John Lennon in the 1960s, with whom she worked on various projects until his untimely death in 1980.

In 1972, Ono recorded the B-side “Move on Fast” from her single “Now or Never” on the album Approximately Infinite Universe (1973), and it became her sixth consecutive No. 1 song on the Billboard charts. She also released several other dance singles, including “Walking on Thin Ice,” which was originally released in 1981 before it made its way back to the radio in 2003. Even with the lingering image as the Beatle bandit who took Lennon from his iconic band, Ono remains an entertaining fixture in the arts world.
